Starting from a sole tutoring business, Restart tuition is about building learners confidence in themselves through positive and impactful tutoring, ensuring that they receive what they need at the time they ask for it. Becoming a freelance tutor within Restart Tuition means you have control over when you work and how often you work using our TutorCruncher platform. There you can advertise your services, give your availability, and apply for jobs within the platform. Restart Tuition aims to offer a mixture of in-person tuition (based currently in Yeovil, Somerset) as well as online provision. We would be particularly interested in hearing from English and Maths tutors located within Yeovil, Somerset who could deliver in person provision to groups of learners.
The business aims to develop itself as a trusted brand within the tuition sector, known for providing the right tutor to the right student. We would love to hear from experienced tutors or current teachers who would want to tutor in their spare time across evenings and weekends. The power of tuition is that you as an individual can bring your flair and passions of your subject to life by supporting learners to achieve, there is no set curriculum, just knowing your learners and boosting their confidence to achieve.
There are no set hours with this position, and work will be offered to you as different jobs come into the business, there is no minimum guaranteed work and you will be required to sign a service level agreement before you begin tutoring with us. You will also be required to get an enhanced DBS (ideally on the update service) and be able to provide two references to comply with our safer recruitment processes.

To deliver high quality tuition to all learners
To update your availability on the platform regularly to provide a reliable and excellent experience to our clients.
To be a subject master, owning your subject and the way you deliver it. Embracing your strengths to support our learners is the heart of being a great tutor at Restart Tuition.
Complete timely reports to support our client’s needs, and to monitor student progress within the sessions you will deliver.
To support your learners to foster a positive mindset and engage them within their own confidence building so they can thrive in our positive learning environments.
To follow our safeguarding practices and ensure you complete regular safeguarding update training yearly as required.
Qualifications/Experience
Teaching Experience/Tutoring Experience (at least 1 year): we are looking for people who can evidence the impact they have had on helping young people achieve. We are looking for those who can evidence ways they have supported young people effectively.
QTS/QTLS, Teaching qualification or significant teaching/tutoring experience with measurable impact is required.
Experience of teaching GCSE within your chosen subject, either tutoring learners or teaching in a educational establishment.
Enhanced DBS Check on the Update Service or willing to obtain one before being offered any work.
Desirable: Exam Marking experience with any exam board
Desirable: Experience in delivering small group tuition (either online or in person, dependent on what you are seeking)
Desirable: Able to work weekends to support learners within tuition, either 1-1 or small groups.
Desirable: Located in Somerset to support learners face-to-face (particularly in Yeovil)
Desirable: Experience as a middle/senior leader in education
